T.J.Cloutier
Thomas J.Cloutier is considered the best no-limit poker player in the world and one of the most respected poker players there is. He specializes in poker tournaments and he have won events in all three types of Omaha played at the World Series has won in all his tournaments an accumulate amount of over 7 million dollars. He distinguish himself by being the only person in the history of the World Series of Poker to have won events in Pot Limit High, Limit High, and also Limit 8-or-Better High-low split.
Biography
Cloutier was born in October 13, 1939 in Albany, California. These days he lives in Richardson, Texas and prctice the art of proffetional poker playing especially No Limit and Pot Limit Hold'em.
He started his interest in poker playing in 1956. His poker icons were Chip Reese, Erik Seidel, Ben Roberts and Surrindar Sunar.
Before he made a living out of playing poker he played football for the Montreal Allouettes. After that he owned a food business with his father and brother that closed in 1976.
Finally he went to Texas to work as a derrick man on the oil rigs and on his days off he would play poker. When he started to make more money from playing poker then on his regular job, he decided to practice poker full time.
Today he lives with his wife in Texas but doesn%u2019t stay there much. He travels a lot and goes to tournaments all over the world.
Achievements
Cloutier has won more tournaments then any other poker player and he was the first player to make more than one million dollars at a tournament without ever winning the main event.
He is the co-author of three poker books and the author of a new poker book. In his book he offers his own strategies and tips and many tournaments stories of winning and losing.
One that stands over the other is the "mystery hand" story. In the story, Cloutier tells how he won a hand without even having any cards, only because his opponent did not pay attention to him.
Personal Tips
Being the observant and watching player he is, he learned through the years what players do in different situations. He has a photographic memory and he remembers people by the way they played their hand. According to Cloutier, once you know the way your opponante play, you know how you should play.
