You can play between 2 and however many people want to play, as well as with more than one deck, but this tends to make games without ends and that is just plain boring.
How to Play
In Egyptian Rat Tail deal all of the cards to everyone, it should be evenly dealt and if not, it starts with the person to the left of the dealer. It works like this. The most important cards are the face cards, J, Q, K, and Ace are what you will need to win the game.
The Face Cards
The Jack is the best, he is worth one play, and the Queen is two, King is 3 and the Ace is 4 plays. The object is to hold the entire deck in your hands and to have taken all the cards from everyone else.
To play, you must hold all cards in your hand in sequence that you cannot see, and play the top card unknowingly so that you have no advantage over your opponents, and vice versa for them.
The Play of the Game
In Egyptian Rat Tail, play a card, if it is a face card, then the player next to you has however many chances to play another face card as was indicated by the face card you played. If the player does not accomplish this feat then you take the pile of cards in the middle of the table.
If he does accomplish playing a face card in the allotted amount of chances given then the play goes to the next player and then they have the same chance to play a face card depending on how many were allotted to them depending on the face of the card played.
Doubles
Doubles played are played the same except that the first player to hit the pile of cards with the doubled card wins the pile without dispute. This works the same if two Jacks are played, if you can slap the two jacks before the one card that is allotted is laid down then you take the pile, the two jacks and anything else that comes with it. But winning two jacks is huge in this game.
The game is played until the winner holds all the cards in his or her hand.
