Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel is a former bond trader from Henderson Nevada and he is one of the best No Limit poker players in the world.
He is famous for the time he lost the final pot to Johnny Chan in the 1988 World Series of Poker. The final pot is one of the greatest poker moments and it was also used in the movie Rounders. At that match, Chan flopped a straight while getting Seidel to proceed with his pair of queens. In compare to other poker players, Seidel has not achieved great fame as a poker player, even tough he is one of the best No Limit poker players in the world.
As a Person
Seidel is well respected by his peers for his gaming skills, but he is also known as a very pleasant person who is fun and interesting to be with.
Achievements
Seidel plays high stakes poker in Las Vegas and tournaments with larger buy-ins. He has won seven World Series of Poker bracelets in Limit Hold'em in 1992, Omaha High-Low and Pot Limit Omaha in 1993, Limit Hold'em in 1994, No Limit Deuce-to-Seven Lowball in 1998, and No Limit Hold'em in 2001 and 2005.
Seidel finished first in Pot Limit Omaha at the 2003 Bellagio Five Star World Poker Classic and in the No Limit event at Festa al Lago in 2004 and finished second in the main event of the World Series of Poker in 1988.

Seidel's best poker skill and the key to his success, is his patience towards the whole process of the game. But he still believes he has a lot to learn about the pace of the game and the differences between the various poker games.
