Michigan Federal authorities arrested on Friday 15 people for involvement in an illegal sports betting ring and committing gambling related crimes. The fourteen men and one woman are suspected of being a part of a gambling operation that ran since 1998.
All of the suspects were arrested and charged on Friday, except Dominic Corrado, 35, of Glen Ellyn, Ill., who will appear in federal court there.
The FBI along with the Michigan State Police and the Fraser Police Department investigated the illegal gambling case.
According to the prosecution, some of the suspects used to threaten the gamblers and their families. Some of them also used a car business to launder the gambling profits. The government attempts to confiscate the ring property and cash worth almost 6 million dollars.
