A couple who have met in an online poker community tied the knot on Wednesday in Las Vegas.

The first couple of online poker got married in Las Vegas on Wednesday, October 11, 2006. Emily and James, also known as EM321 and Skiker, who have met through an online poker forum, have tied the knot in a traditional Elvis ceremony.

Emily, 32, a travel agent and James, 27, a geography teacher, both from Atlanta, Georgia are both fanatic online poker players. I started to play poker online about 4 years ago, says Emily, a single parent of a 5 years old girl, I won several times but my biggest win is definitely James.

According to Emily, the first couple of the online poker world have met about a year ago, when James posted a message in an online poker forum, looking for partners for a home poker game in his area. Emily, who had never played live poker before, responded him and found out that they are quite neighboring each other. After a few games of Texas Holdem poker at James kitchen, the two had transformed from poker buddies to lovebirds.

James said that it was his idea to wed in Las Vegas. Since we met around a poker table, what would be more appropriate than getting married in Vegas? he joked. However, the couple does not plan to play more than one game of poker during their honeymoon.
