2005 World Series of Poker Champion

Mike Matusow wins the 2005 World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions.

Mike Matusow is the 2005 winner of the World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions. He won 1 million dollars and overcame more than 119 WSOP champions. After twelve hours of intense play, the final table found its champion. The best poker players were invited to participate in this tournament with a 2 million dollars freeroll. During 3 days they competed against each other playing the finest poker hands with almost no mistakes. They all wanted to win but only Mike won the first place.

At the final table, there was a dream team of poker pros, with Mike Matusow, Phil Hellmuth and Hoyt Corkins. After three hours of play, Hellmuth left. Mike and Hoyt remained at the table. Mike still had 40 percent of his chips and he finally won, cashing 1 million dollars and giving a turnaround to his life after not a very good period. After realising his victory, talkative Mike was speechless.
