Commerce Casino in California is the hottest poker venue during January and February. New poker players, professional and even women who wish to play poker in an all women environment, can join the L.A. Poker Classic event.
Commerce Casino added more features to this year L.A. Poker Classic. It promises a prize worth of 2 million dollars to the winner of the L.A. Poker Classic Championship event, and 1 million dollars to the player who achieves second place. On top of the all women tournaments, Commerce Casino plans also to host a Tag Team Valentines Day tournament on February 14.
The most popular event is the L.A. Poker Classic No Limit Texas Holdem Championship event that will take place in February 16-21. The event will attract a line up of the poker legends and young stars, trying to win the million dollars cash prizes. The winner also gains 25,000 dollars seat in the World Poker Tour World Championship in April Las Vegas. Last years champion, Michael Mizrachi, won more than 1.8 million dollars. A year earlier, the winner, Antonio Esfandiari, had earned almost 1.4 million dollars. In 2005, 535 players participated in the event, and it is considered as one of the biggest WPT events.
