Casino Being Rebuilt
The Grand Casino Biloxi, owned by Harrah%u2019s Entertainment, is getting rebuilt by the next summer. The casino has received extensive damage by Hurricane Katrina.
Harrah%u2019s Entertainment has plans to rebuild its Grand Casino in Biloxi and expend it into a grand hotel with 500 rooms, new dining facilities, a new swimming pool and spa services.
According to a previous law in Mississippi, casinos were not allowed to be built on solid ground. Because of that all the casinos were located on boats. The rules were changed after the storm destroyed many of these floating casinos in the cities of Biloxi and Gulfport. According to the current low it is legal to build a casino on solid ground.
The project is at its first step and it is expected to reopen by the late summer. The Casino plans on hiring over 1,000 employees.
