Fireworks that exploded the other night in a shipping container that caught fire killing two Washington state men at the Coeur d'Alene Casino, were found in the charred remains of the mens bodies after examination at the coroners office.
The investigators of the case have not determined whether the fireworks are to blame for the explosion last week, this is according to the Kootenai County Sheriffs department.
The identities of the two men that were killed in the fire were confirmed by the casino as maintenance employees Donald Hanson of Spokane County, and Richard Stokes also of Spokane County. The names were released to the public after identification.
The investigation being led by the sheriffs department and the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives will continue this week at the Coeur d'Alene Reservation in Idaho said a representative of the sheriffs department.
The casino decided that in the aftermath of the deaths to cancel the fireworks shows that had been scheduled for Saturday and Tuesday, the 4th of July.
A local man who works at a fireworks stand just down the road from the casino said that he heard the blast sometime around 8:40 am on Thursday.
There are no suspects in the fire, and it seems to appear as just an unfortunate accident just before the holiday weekend.
