Las Vegas is this year's host of the U.S. Conference of Mayors annual meeting. The Conference included More than 200 mayors from cities across America, who gathered for four days to discuss important issues such as corporate-funded partying and other ethical questions.
The Conference included a morning round of golf, a private tour of a dolphin habitat, poker lessons and a tour of The Bellagio art museum. Saturday night featured performances from top Las Vegas talent while Sunday was a free, private performance of Cirque du Soleil's latest.
Beverly O'Neill, U.S. Conference of Mayors' President and mayor of Long Beach, said she's comfortable with the corporate presence at the meeting. The meeting itself was covered by the Conference organizers, but the details of after-hours activities was organized by Las Vegas' mayor Goodman and the City of Las Vegas.
Goodman worked hard to bring the conference to Las Vegas to help establish the city's more sophisticated side.
Elizabeth Kautz Burnsville Mayor said she takes the conference as an opportunity to learn about new products and technologies available for her city and to hear from corporate citizens.
