Indonesian Tobacco tycoon Putera Sampoerna plans to purchase London casino Les Ambassadeurs for 115 million sterling pounds from the UK gaming company London Clubs International.
London Clubs International plans to use the income of the deal to finance new casinos across the UK. The company has been given state licenses to open six casinos in London, Leeds, Glasgow, Manchester, Manchester and Nottingham. Les Ambassadeurs earned a profit of 5.6 million sterling pounds in 2005.
Mr. Sampoerna sold his tobacco firm to Philip Morris last year. He intends to create a net of luxury casinos. The deal waits for the approval of London Clubs shareholders.
