The owner of 21 small casinos in Nevada, Richard C. Estey, has been fined 200,000 dollars for breaking the State Gaming Regulation. He is believed to have deceived state casino regulators in regard with a 2005 domestic dispute. Estey admitted his charges before the Nevada Gaming Control Board on Thursday and agreed to pay the 200,000 dollar fine. He had received a two-count complaint filed by Deputy Attorney General Darlene Caruso.
In August 29th Estey%u2019s ex-wife, Katherine, filed a complaint against Richard, even asking for a temporary protective order against him. The Gaming Board had hired investigators after Richard submitted an application to buy 20 % of the company from Katherine%u2019s. Investigators found out about the complaint and reported the Board. In May 2005, Estey had also requested the Board a license for his company Nevada Restaurant Services, Inc., as a slot operator, manufacturer, and distributor. Since Richard Estey did not inform the Board about the domestic incident, which he was supposed to do according to the Board regulations regarding applicants, and further denied his wife%u2019s allegations when asked in November, the Board not only denied his license and fined him but he has also been urged to participate in an ethics course within a year.
