Reopening the Treasure
The Biloxi City Council is considering for a new location for the reopening of Treasure Bay casino which was destroyed after Hurricane Katrina. The Treasure Bay casino will be the forth casino to reopen after the destruction of Hurricane Katrina.
The initial form of the new Treasure Bay casino will be limited with no more then 100 slot machines and with no table games. This first addition of the casino will expand this autumn to 550 slots and 22 table games. The casino hotel will have about 250 rooms with also an option for future expansion.
The dining services at the casino will include two options: the first one is the Den with 24 hour food, and the "blu", which will be opened 18 hours daily and offer menu items that were served in restaurants the Nemo's and the Captain's Quarters before they were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
According to Susan Varnes, chief operating officer of Treasure Bay, the casino will adopt a new identity and a new logo for its reopening and drop its pirate motif. As it appears so far, the new Treasure Bay logo motif will be a navigational compass.
