The AAA Committee
On April 13 in Rochester a ceremony was performed in order to announce The 2006 AAA Four Diamond award winners. There were 15 Upstate winners, but The Oneida Indian Nation's Lodge at Turning Stone is the only Four Diamond hotel in Central New York.
The AAA committee evaluates 55,000 lodging establishments and restaurants each year.
This was the first year The Lodge was competing for the AAA rating; and that is because of the nation's premier traveler's organization does not evaluate new properties during their first year of operation.
The Lodge at Turning Stone was opened in 2004 and named the Best of the year by New York Contractor magazine at the same year. Contract magazine gave the lodge the 2005 Interiors Award and Lodging Hospitality magazine named The Lodge one of the best luxury hotels in the U.S.
The Lodge contains 98 suites, while each suite includes a large living room and a bedroom. In every room the guests enjoy a luxuries mini-bar and a television in a custom-designed millwork cabinet. A few larger suites, located at each corner of the hotel, have a separate dining room, additional powder room and private terrace with hot tub.
