Top Dessert Prize
The top dessert honors on April 2, was given to Gila River Casinos culinary team. The event took place at Rawhide at Wild Horse Pass, and included samples from over 30 of the Valley’s best restaurants, resorts and catering companies.
The “Faire Extraordinaire Best Dessert Culinary Award,” was presented to Wind Dance Restaurant Executive Sous Chef Bryan Lawlor and his culinary team. The judges consider several elements in the judging process, such as presentation, taste and over all creativity.
The competition was divided into four categories that showcased the event’s best salads, appetizers, entrees and desserts. The Gila River competed with unique dessert featured fry bread angles displayed within a dish topped with strawberries and whipped cream.
More than 14,000 teenagers from the Boys and Girls Clubs of the East Valley will benefit in the many services and programs events like this help provide.
