Playing Texas Holdem

Playing texas holdem online isn't complicated but you must learn how to play, how not to play and practise enough before playing with money at any online poker room. You get two cards out of a 52 card pack, which are placed facing down. Begin by wagering initial small amounts to increase excitement. After the players raise, fold or call, the dealer will throw away the next card to be dealt to prevent cheating. Three cards are then opened on the table for all to see. These cards can be used by all to form the strongest or weakest (depending on the game) poker hand. Another three cards are dealt facing up.

After another round of betting, the dealer discards the top card. The next one is exposed and you can now form a texas holdem hand with the six cards available: the four common cards and your two face down cards.

Another betting round begins. Immediately following it another card is placed on the table. This card (termed "river" card) is placed facing up and you can use it along with all the other cards to form your best poker sequence.

Final Betting Round

Bet wisely and you could win regardless of what your cards are. Generally unless some holdem poker gambler has a really strong sequence, the bolder and better player wins the entire pot. Eventually after all gambling ceases - each and every player starts to reveal his hand. The player with the best hand (who is still in the game) wins.

New to Texas Holdem?

If you are new to Texas holdem, play a few rounds free at one of the many poker rooms before you begin to play for money. After practising enough and when you feel ready enough, begin playing poker online for real money.
