Poker Rooms

The online poker rules are not different from the ones at the traditionally played poker at casinos. Same as in casinos, online poker rooms have several versions of the game such as: Seven Card Stud, Omaha and Texas Hold'em.

The rules and conditions of entering an online poker room are standard rules, but if you wish to join a table you should know them. Each poker room has its own playing habits, but the basic rules are pretty much the same.

In order to start playing, you are required to download the game's software to your computer. All you need to do is look for the download button (or "play now" button), press it and let the download process start. The download process is quick and easy, and within minutes you will be able to play. Once the software is installed at your computer, you may join a poker table and start to play.

Basic Betting Rules
In any basic poker game, the players have the right to wager using a number of actions available to them, offering them different betting strategies:

Check
If there is no wager on the current betting round, a player may check, which means he may not place a bet. If a player decides to place a bet, then the player clockwise from him has three options: fold, raise, or call.

Fold
To fold is to give up the right of winning the pot. A player that folds gives up the right to place more money in the jackpot, and he is automatically out of the current round.

Call / Raise
To call is to put an equal amount of bet as the players before you. On the other hand, to raise s to place a bigger bet then the players before you. When a player raises, it means one of two things: either he has a very strong hand, or he wishes the other players to think he does.

Showdown
The showdown occurs when each player has made his betting move (fold, raise or call) and it is time to reveal the players hands and see hoe won the pot.
