To Play Rummy
The game of rummy is very easy to learn, and once you learn the 7 card version, then you can pick up to 11 cards 13 and even 21 cards if you feel lucky enough.
To Start
To start the game, the dealer will deal 7 cards to each player. The player that goes first will be the player to the left of the dealer. The dealer cuts the deck, and takes the top card and flips it over on top of the discard pile.
In rummy, the first player has the choice to take this card, or take a card from the deck. After this move, the player must discard a card. Either the card picked up or whatever suits their fancy.
The Object
The object of the game is to leave your opponents with the most amounts of points in relation to how many cards are in their hands.
To win with your 7 card hand in Rummy, two runs suited (one of 3 and one of 4), a three of a kind or a four of a kind, or a combination of either of these. So for example, you may have a run of 3, 4, 5, and 6 of hearts and then three 8s together in your hand, this would be a winning hand with the run of 4 and then the three of a kind.
How To Score
To score the game, the player that wins gains no points. The point is to have the least amount of points. We play so that the first player to reach a certain number is the definite loser and then the player with the least is the winner and the in between is exactly that, mediocre.
